Tip #1 – Schedule Your Worry Time

It sounds strange I know, but if you dedicate a time in the day to worry, you will worry less. If you find yourself becoming anxious, just tell yourself you will worry about this at your “worry time”. Delaying the time often helps to stop the stress.

Simply write it down and postpone the time to deal with it until your “worry time”.

And when it is at that time, sit down and look at the list you’ve made and often you will find the worry or anxieties relating to it have passed.

You’ve probably heard this a million times before, but it does help to relieve anxiety. You can train yourself to relax by sitting down with your eyes closed and then going from head to toe and telling each area of your body to relax.

Simply tell the muscles to relax and take a breath in and out to relax. Practice does make perfect, so the more you do this the better you will become at relaxing and it will help relieve anxiety.

Tip #3 – Breathe

Yes when you breathe in your breathe in energy and when you breathe out you breathe out stress. Breathing in a relaxed, deep and circular motion will help to dispel stress and worry.

You can improve your breathing my simply counting your breaths. Counting your breaths helps to slow your breathing and helps to break your thought patterns also. Again doing this when you feel okay is also good as it helps to train your breathing to be more relaxed anyway.

Tip #4 – Learn to Meditate

Both are good but meditation is better for long term success and easing anxiety and even panic attacks. You can learn to meditate if you follow some simple steps which you can do without needing to attend a class.

You don’t need to be a gym junky or exercise excessively, but simply going for a walk, bike ride or swim will help to relieve anxiety and stress. When you exercise you release what is called endorphins which are your internal happy pills.

The more you exercise the more you release these endorphins. Ideally try to exercise each day for 30 minutes, but even exercising only 2-3 times a week can make big changes in your health, energy and stress levels.

Tip #6 – Sleep

If you are tired you become stressed easier. So a good nights sleep is beneficial to help keep your energy levels high and your stress levels low. When you are anxious or worried you may find sleep difficult.

But when you can easily fall asleep, then use these days to catch up on lost sleep. It will make a world of difference, especially if you are breathing better and you learn to meditate.
