The physical symptoms of anxiety are identified by the way in which the brain sends signals to other parts of the body gearing up for a fight or flight reaction. The human brain releases stress hormones, which includes adrenaline. Common symptoms that will occur are intestinal pain, rapid heartbeat or palpitations, dizzy spells, diarrhea, lack of breath, dry mouth, tightness or discomfort in chest, frequent urination or finding it tricky to swallow.
Anxiety is viewed as the culprit when a psychological health problem is recognised, for example depression, drinking problems, character disorder, even withdrawal from the long-term use of drugs or tranquillizers.
The signs to keep an eye open for when mental anxiety is present are a lack of ability to focus, fear of losing control, sleeplessness, irritability or anger. Some types of stresses are closely linked with physical illnesses such as a thyroid disorder. If treatment occurs for whatever the diagnosed illness is, then the anxiety can improve over time.
